How Was May So Busy?

It's already the MIDDLE OF THE MONTH!!  How??

I keep reading on Facebook how everyone is crunched in May and I'm like, "Yes, exactly!"  Minus that I don't have school age kids, or graduations, or end of year projects, field trips, parties or anything like that.  Everyone is so busy from the school year wrapping up.

I'm at stay-at-home-mama/work once a week nurse with two boys 21 months and younger...maybe I am just mentally preparing for the future Mays in our future of craziness??  Anyway, I think this is just a wild month for a lot of people winding down most regular year rhythms and prepping for the summer.

I have been hunting for summer activities on Pinterest.  I want a mix of fun/kindness/serving/free and will be planning all of that this weekend.  Here is a list I found and I'm already making lists to build up our craft closet and tactile bags:

I'll photo dump the rest of this post but for now I'll just have to remember our last few weeks in list-form!  In May we have...

Visited Children's ER
Visited Children's Neurology center for Baby's EEG
Had well child checks, 1 round of vaccines
Caseworker visited
GAL visited
Weekly bio parent visits
Girl's night at Village Tavern
Court hearing, gained legal custody of Baby Boy
I spoke at MOPS tea/testimony meeting
Finished a bathroom remodel
Finished staining the banisters on our stairs
Hosted 2 of our favorite people for a week
Hosted a baby shower
Hosted a BBQ for 40 people
Went to new parks
Visited the Children's Museum Denver
Visited the Museum of Nature and Science
Celebrated Mother's Day
Went to a job interview/was offered the job/accepted! (future post!)
Started doing 10 minutes of yoga in the morning pre-boys waking up
Prioritizing a quiet time FIRST thing in the morning pre-boys waking up
Planted a small garden
Bustled around normal life

We have some good things coming up this week-our final MOPS meeting, a playdate, visiting family and one of our favorite weekly activities: walking to church on Sunday morning.  I hope you have a good week too!

We have had CRAZY weather here.  Today it's snowing and last week we had a hail storm that was SO bad!  Both boys got to wear warm winter hats when we went outside

On a nicer day, Ryan wore baby for lawn chores

At one of our many doctor's appointments

Baby Boy working on sitting up!  He still is like the leaning tower of Pisa so I don't leave him alone sitting but he's getting there!

Sweet baby at his EEG.  They hooked up 20 different electrodes to his head and then went to sleep.  He slept hard because we had to keep him awake for 4.5 hours.  If you know anything about 5 month olds, they don't like to be awake longer than about 2 hours. It was painful for everybody involved!

Two boys in their high chairs!  Baby Boy starts solids next month and Giddy will show him the ropes

A house warming gift of planted herbs from our dear friend Maggie

It compliments our little garden.  We're growing cucumbers, green bell peppers, yellow bell peppers and tomatoes.  I want to get a pumpkin in the other planter but this crazy snow makes me glad I didn't do that yet!

Gideon playing at a nearby park.  We are so blessed to have the best parks and splash pads near our home-it will keep this boy busy all summer

Bathroom remodel sneak peek!!  We need to get a mirror obviously and some shelves and few decorations.  I absolutely love how it turned out-clean and bright just like I wanted

Just a boy and his hose

On Tuesday Gram kept Baby Boy so Gideon and I could have a Mama/Gid date to the Children's Museum.  He played so hard and had the best time!

We explored every inch of that place including the outdoor park

Gideon is the silliest, funniest, most unique little guy we know.  He insisted on wearing his dress shoes with his diaper.  And he also insisted on getting in Baby's crib and then screamed bloody murder when I put him in there HA!

Gid loves crafts and art almost as much as he loves being outside.  He can paint and color for a solid 30 minutes!

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
