The Most Amazing, Generous Gift

I accidentally learned the art of "the tease" in my last post when I mentioned a certain amazing, generous gift we recently received but postponed the details.  So let me tell you about it now!

Set the stage: we have two amazing friends, Marc & Beth Malone, and one amazing God who combined to serve and bless us BIG time!  The Lord + Malone family forces together are unstoppable!

Anyway, one unsuspecting afternoon after Ryan's surgery Marc & Beth offered to bring us Jamba Juice and in their words, a gift to make things shway shway better (shway shway is an Arabic term to mean 'a little bit').  We expected a gift certificate for dinner when Ryan is healthy or something which still would have been AMAZING but oh no...this was MUCH bigger!

So they came over bearing fruity smoothie deliciousness and a card that read like this...

Ryan and Carly,

First of all, we love you!  We thank God that you are in our lives.

Secondly, we hurt for you.  Most us can't imagine how painful and crappy and hard this time has been. We have been, and will continue to be, lifting you up to the Lord.

Finally, we want to support you.  We have been trying to see and meet your needs as they come up.  It seems that in the near future, you may have some financial needs.  We don't know for sure when you'll be able to get back to work, and we don't know when/if you'll go on unpaid leave, but if you need it we are prepared to send you $1520/month for at least 12 months.

We wanted to let you know this now to relieve any stress you must be having about the financial future.

Signed,
Chris & Tamara Carey, Alex Gan, Bette & Steve Burkey, Ali & Daniel Carter, Harry & Gretchen Kushniroff, Yvonne & George Decker, Rebecca Allen, Mike & Kindra Johnson, Katie Sesler, Shane & Ashley Hutchinson, Marc & Beth Malone, John & Cleo Nelon, Lindsay Nelson, Jim & Cherrine Hockett

And then the tears started flowing.  This is just incredible!  If Ryan can't work for some reason, combining this monthly gift with my salary will cover our financial needs and allow us to thrive.  Marc & Beth saw a need in our life and acted with grace, love, and generosity.  And then our family and friends responded.  It's more than we ever expected.

The support of our friends and family is overwhelming and comforting.  We are not alone in this battle. This season has been beyond stressful and trying.  In a time of so much uncertainty we are reassured that the Lord has EVERY need covered, we are surrounded with people who love and support us.

We are honored to see God showing off in this time.  He is good.  He is faithful.  He is worthy of our praise.

Do you love that they presented in a check?  I do!!  It said it was from The Bank of the Lord.  Sorry for the mirror image photo-it all looks backwards but you get the idea.

P.S.  The Melting Pot's Marketing Consultant, Cindy (who we just love!), just e-mailed me asking if the company could hold a fundraiser for Ryan.  Um, wow!!  The support and generosity just keeps rolling in.  I have no words-this is beyond amazing.  Thank you Lord!

Our faith is not about the condition that we dwell in God, but about the evidence that He dwells in us.
-Matt White
25  “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[g] 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 Forthe Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34  “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Matthew 6:25-34
