2011 has been an insanely fast-paced, rewarding, difficult, unique, and thrilling year.

Here is a little recap of all we have to praise the Lord for and reflect on...
  • Said adios to Saudi Arabia and hola to America!
  • Rilyn Grace our favorite niece was born!
  • I graduated in May 2011 with my B.A. in Psychology
  • April 2011, I was hired by Cru as part-time staff at Colorado School of Mines
  • Spent one loooong summer support raising and praise God He provided for this season!
  • Celebrated our 1 year anniversary in June-wooo hoooo!
  • 5 months after our search began we bought our first home, crazy orange carpet and all!
  • Renovated an entire house and officially moved to Golden in October 2011
  • Rescued and began to luuuuuuve Harpo Herald Decker (his new name)
  • Hosted our first ever Thanksgiving and Ryan made one ridiculously delicious 20 lb turkey
  • Spent 2 adventurous weeks in South Asia!
Those are just a few highlights, there was much more relational, spiritual, and emotional context that we walked through. We are grateful for so many "firsts" and although it was a very fast paced year, we experienced significant growth. Here are a few pics of 2011 randomness:

{Our first snow back in October! The view from our backyard}

{Ryan & Kaia, our friend's husky puppy that he LOVED}

{Pumpkin patch date with spinach, garlic, fettuccine}

{At Clint & Megan's wedding-the 2nd wedding Ryan has officiated!}

{She's so big now but here is one cute, chunky, naughty, little girl we are SO in love with!}

{Rilyn & Ryan hanging out during our ladies Bible Study}

{Harpo locked away in his crate but happy "smoking" his bone.}

We anticipate 2012 to be full (overflowing actually) with new seasons and relationships and learning. I'm not sad to say good-bye to 2011 but energized and confident for what the Lord has already planned for the next 365 days.

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

Deuteronomy 7:9

  1. Um ya I would think it is safe to say that your year has been just a little eventful! Our favorite highlight on your little (long) list (besides our daughter being born obviously) is that you left Saudi and came back here! Can't wait to see what 2012 brings you both!

  2. So true about the eventful year! Hope 2012 means lots of time with you 3. And maybe 4 if you guys would hurry up and get preggers again...errr...what???
