Before Pics

Do you wonder what we have been doing for the last 3.5 weeks? Like what does it mean when we say we've been "working on the house"?

I'll tell you what it means, updating a 1980's orange mess into a place we call home! We have been ripping up old carpet and tile, scraping off wallpaper, patching a million holes plowed into the drywall, knocking out a kitchen wall, building a breakfast bar, painting floor trim, sanding doors, cleaning up old windows, painting every surface imaginable, getting new flooring installed, and my personal favorite: new lighting!!

We had help from so many people, most recently my parents who cooked and brought over ANOTHER feast (Salisbury steaks, roasted potatoes, cranberry walnut salad, chocolate peanut butter cookies and chocolate milk!). Our friend Matt has had 20 of 21 dinner with us the last three weeks and he has been the biggest help of all. We would not be able to move in THIS AFTERNOON if it weren't for people serving us so well. We are grateful and so relieved to move in.

We wanted to share a few BEFORE pictures with "in progress/after" picture to come:

Before Kitchen:

Before Living Room:

Before Dining Room:

For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2 Corinthians 5:1

  3. Linny: I have the "after/progress" pictures but they are on our friend Matt's camera and he said the files are too big to download ha ha shoot! It really does look so different. Excited for you to come home and see them :)

You will be IN the loop in about 2 months sister! Excited for that time

  4. Mrs. B: The hard work is VERY rewarding! I feel like we sanded/primed/painted and re-did every square inch of this house. It's incredible accomplishment for us and now we are VERY ready to just relax :)
