Heaven. Not just halos and clouds...

This post has no other purpose than to get your out of this blog and send you somewhere else!

Do you wonder what heaven will be like? What we will do there? Will it really be a place I want to be forever? Could it ever get boring? Will I dance on clouds all day? What happens there?

Laura Krokos over at Beholding Glory (click here!) rocks out what Heaven (and click here!) will be like!

And no we will not have on goofy halos and sit in church pews all day singing old hymns to an organ. God has adventure, purpose, and glory in store for eternity!

Randy Alcorn, a leading expert and theologian on the topic of heaven says:

Scripture gives us many images that are full of implications about heaven. Put them together, and these jigsaw pieces for a beautiful picture. For example, we’re told that heaven is a city (Heb. 11:10, 13:14). When we hear the word city, we shouldn’t scratch our heads and think, I wonder what that means? We understand cities. Cities have people, buildings activities, gatherings ,art, music, athletics, events of all kinds, and goods and services.

We will have real life bodies, just like Jesus after he rose from the dead. He ate, so will we. “When God speaks of having ‘new bodies,’ do we shrug our shoulders and say, ‘I can’t imagine what a new body would be like?’ Of course not. We know what a body is... In our resurrected bodies, we will be as physical as we are now… we will be forever physical but no longer subject to sin, death, suffering, and the curse.”

How interesting and totally mind-boggling is that?! Just get over to Laura's post asap! God just blows my expectations out of the water everyday. He is so dang cool.

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
