End of June Update

These little random updates are growing on me...

Let's do it list style this time.

#1. Ryan's cousin Zeph was meandering around CO this week so we scooped him up and Ryan decided to show him the art of mountain biking. Zeph and his friend Frank have never really been mountain biking before so my prayers were sky high that day...as it turns out they were needed. Well, the adventure began biking up Chimney Gulch (the mountain with the big white M on it) and ended at the bottom with a filleted knee and a trip to the Emergency Room. Yes, indeed poor Zeph had to get 10 stitches from his magnificent fall off a mountain into a pile of sharp rocks. His entire leg was covered in blood and had a gash so deep that poor Franklin nearly passed out. Ha! We treated the boys to a night out at Old C's to make up for the ER visit.

#2. If you go on-line and google a certain house in a certain neighborhood in a certain cute little town, you will see that such a house is "Under Contract". Woo hoo! I would say we are Under "Half" Contract because the sale is still pending and the bank is officially still deciding as of 8:09 a.m. if they can come up short on their loan. People, we are getting this house for $55K less that it sold for in 2004. That is amazing! The Lord dropped this house down $25K one random afternoon and we pounced on the offer. It needs a new front door, some windows to replace the boards in front (classy, no?) and some TLC in general but it's a dream spot. Pray we get this house if the Lord wants us there. And P.S. We are both under 3 miles from our work places at this location. Holla!

#3. We still have the cutest niece in the whole world.

#4. From our Family Farm Share this week we adventured into the makings of Spinach Lasagna, Banana Rhubarb Bread, eating the radishes raw (spicy!), and Tomatillo Salsa.

#5. I'll leave you with this final update: Marriage is rocking our socks off. In good and hard ways. We realize more than ever how much we need the Lord to pursue us and be the rock of our relationship and lives. In the midst of a busy summer of raising my salary for Campus Crusade and buying a house things can get hard quickly. We can't do this on our own. We mess up too much, are too weak, too selfish, too self-focused. With the Lord we receive abounding grace, an ability to forgive and humbly seek forgiveness, renewed passion for marriage and a love for each other that comes only from the Lord.

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ
