So Ry and I have been doing our VERY best (we swear!) with budgeting this month. Admittedly there are random costs that creep up when you move back into the country and we didn't do quite as terrible as we predicted with budgeting...but we spent WAY over on groceries and "entertainment" and our car decided to break a wheel bearing. Ack!
Ok that is our confession. Since we did write a past blog post about wanting to spend the money we've been trusted with wisely, we better be willing to talk about it. But this post is NOT a pity party. It's about a VERY VERY amazing tool that we found (that I, Carly, am obsessed with).
Ever heard of Coupon Mom? Before you discredit the company for being on Oprah just know that we saved about $50 last month with these coupons alone. For instance, I just printed out coupons for hummus, ziploc bags, cream cheese, organic bread, organic granola, organic canned tomatoes, Aveeno lotion, and coconut milk (don't judge). They also have TONS of coupons for stuff that we just don't eat very often like Pillsbury products, candy, cereal, lunch meat, and household cleaning products. Good deal eh?
Anyway I recommend this to anyone and everyone, especially newly married/newly back in the country people who have had a Saudi Arabian sugar daddy for the last year. So here's what you do...
1) Go to couponmom.com
2) Fill out the information box that says "Join Free Today"
3) Read the tutorial called "Learn to Coupon" in the top blue tabs
4) Hook your printer up, select the coupons you want and print.
I have never gotten spam so they don't share your email, they will never ask for a credit card and basically you just save tons of money. Just wanted to share this encouraging tool with you all-it has been a good way for us to be more intentional with what we buy, apply coupons only on things we would buy anyway and cut expenses so we can save or give money away!
Hope this helps! Although we didn't entirely crash and burn this month we could have done better and we will remember it as a good lesson for February and to share with other couples who get discouraged.
